Terms of use
PebbleSense Academy is a preview under active development. Features change, things break, and access is by invitation. These terms are written for that stage and will be replaced before the product opens generally.
1. Agreement
By using PebbleSense Academy at academy.pebblesense.com ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. The Service is operated by PebbleSense ("we", "us").
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter an agreement where you live. The Service is intended for students in higher education. Access during the preview is by invitation and we may grant or withdraw it at our discretion.
3. Your account
You sign in with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure, and for what happens under it. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using it. One account is for one person — please do not share it.
4. Acceptable use
While using the Service, you agree not to:
- Break the law, or infringe anyone's rights.
- Attempt to break out of, overload, or interfere with the environment in which your code runs, or use it to attack anything — inside our systems or outside them.
- Attempt to gain access to accounts, data or systems that are not yours.
- Copy, scrape, republish or resell the course material.
- Upload malware, or content that is unlawful or abusive.
- Use automated means to create accounts or extract content at scale.
The code you write runs in a sandbox that we monitor for abuse. We may suspend access immediately if we believe it is being misused in a way that puts other people or our systems at risk.
5. Your work
What you write stays yours. Code, projects, answers and reflections belong to you. You give us permission to store, process and display that work for the purpose of running the Service for you — showing it back to you, running it, and marking it. That permission ends when you delete the work or your account.
6. Our material
The courses, lessons, exercises, text, designs, software and branding that make up the Service belong to us or to our licensors. You may use them for your own learning. You may not redistribute them, and you may not use them to build a competing product.
7. Availability, and the preview
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". During the preview in particular:
- It may be unavailable, without notice.
- Features may change or be removed.
- Data may be reset, and content may be corrected or replaced.
We will make reasonable efforts to avoid losing your work, but you should not rely on the Service as the only copy of anything that matters to you. You can export your data at any time from your account settings.
8. No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the material is free of mistakes. Nothing here is professional, academic or career advice, and completing a course is not a qualification.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data, lost profits or lost opportunity, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Ending it
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9 and 11 survive.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to tell you. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
13. Contact
See also our privacy policy, which explains what we do with your data.
